I am a SAHM to three kiddos ages 8, 5, and 1. For those of you that do not know what a SAHM is, let me enlighten you. STAY AT HOME MOM.....within that title the duties are as follows:
1. Take care of kids (of course)
2. Maid
3. Dry Cleaner and laudry service
4. Family Accountant (even though you and your hubby do not always see eye to eye on things)
5. Chef
6. Nurse
7. Personal Driver
8. Plumber
9. Sometimes eletrician(although I personally would not suggest that one)
10. Great story teller
Of course a SAHM does not get paid for all these duties, she gets the joy of being able to be at home with her children everyday.
Sometimes I question my choice of profession and wonder if I am a right fit. But seeing their smiles and hearing their laughs everyday reminds me how truly blessed I really am.
Being a SAHM is not easy, there are days when I just want to cry. I really don't have much of a social life and not many friends. It is all I can do to get a shower in the morning without my toddler trying to climb in with me!
I think sometimes my husband does not realize how hard it can be. Granted, this was my choice. But sometimes I wonder if women of our generation have too many choices and thus makes us feel confused all the time wondering if we have chosen the right ones.
Don't get me wrong, I am so glad to have been there for the first words, and first steps, getting them off to school everyday. I think as a SAHM you tend to put your children and husband first so much that you eventually lose yourself. My husband has been a wonderful support system through the years, but I have still managed to forget what made me tick.
My goal for 2011 is to rediscover that lost hidden treasure that seems impossible to find and I have decided to blog my way through it. Till next time....
xoxo C
